2023 - AUGUST 30TH FULL MOON - BLUE MOON

Hi everyone!

Just as we made it through the first full moon on August 1st, we got hit with the effects of the start of Mercury's retrograde.  If that wasn't tough enough, on Wednesday, August 30th at 9:36 pm (EDT), we experience our second full moon this month.  If a month has two full moons, the second one is called a blue moon.  While we gaze at the moon tomorrow night, we may be able to see a bright point of light next to the moon.  This light is not a star, but the planet Saturn.  This is a special month, indeed!

Remember, this moon is also a supermoon.  As mentioned before, a supermoon amplifies the impact of her energy on us all.  Space.com says a supermoon occurs when "the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth in its orbit. Supermoons make the moon appear a little brighter and closer than normal, although the difference is hard to spot with the naked eye." .

The August 30th full moon falls in the intuitive and artistic sign of Pisces, while she travels through the analytical sun sign of Virgo.  So, while we feel the practical side of Virgo surfacing emotionally in us, we will also be compelled to examine our own intuition and dreams due to the influence of the moon traveling in Pisces. This makes for quite an interesting blend:  Dealing with day to day responsibilities using our intuitive skills.  Because there are two sides to the sign of Pisces (illustrated by the symbol with two fish), we may also feel that we need to look at what we have been avoiding or neglecting to address.  Luckily, the pragmatic trait of Virgo will be able to help us ground and act on our intuition, thus making sure we face our issues that we had once swept under the rug, so to speak.  Full moon's energies are to help us release that which no longer serves our highest and best.  This month is a perfect time to do just that!

This Pisces full moon gets us more connected to our creativity, too.  With heightened emotions, and increased intuition, we can use these to search for our purpose in this life. Trying silent meditation may allow us to receive messages that may come through to help us find our calling.  We must also try to reprogram what we say to ourselves in order to create a more balanced and harmonious internal relationship, so that we can trust the messages that flow.  Hopefully, we will "find our feet" through this activity so we can focus on the journey to our destination.

Finally, please try - even just once - to stand barefoot in the grass outdoors and use the moon's glow to ground the body's energy to the earth.  Enjoy this experience!  Remember to look for the Saturn "star" shining brightly next to the moon.  Crystals and stones benefit by the moon's energy.  Place them outdoors, or on a window ledge, so that they, too, get cleansed and recharged by the moonlight.

Until next month...
