2022 MAY FULL MOON

This month’s moon is indeed a special one for many reasons. It's called the “flower moon” because historically this is a time where the country is feeling Spring the fullest.

May’s moon is also a super blood moon. Take note of the moon’s size tonight as she will seem bigger and brighter than usual. This is because we will be experiencing a total lunar eclipse - when the earth passes between the moon and the sun during its orbit. This casts a shadow on the moon creating a “blood moon”.

All this activity will be happening tonight! She will show us her fullest view at the wee hour of 12:15am (Monday, May 16th). So, just before bed is the perfect time to go outside barefoot and feel our feet connect with the earth while we bask in her gentle energy.

Remember, the moon is our emotional compass, ruling over our intuition as well as our sense of security. See what emotions or thoughts surface, as this is where our focus is going to be for the next few weeks. This is a time to release and transform!

This month’s full moon falls in the passionate and intense sign of Scorpio. We will be battling with our held-in emotions and feel like we must confront the darkest part of our “self” in order to purge what holds us back. Once we understand what must go, and find peace with it leaving, we can come out feeling rejuvenated and eager to see where we can make improvements.

The intense "need for growth" energy of this month's full moon, eclipse and retrograde together make this a perfect time to write down stories, people or events that do not serve us anymore, and then do a "ceremonial" paper burning. This will give more us more determination to “let go and in let good”. Say goodbye to those burdens as a way of finality as the flames destroy the issues that held us back.

Doing this outdoors tonight allows her full moon energy to release and blow away the weight we once carried. Once the paper has gone to ash, it is important to set a positive intention for the next chapter. Set it with conviction and determination.

Please don’t waste those ashes; once cooled, they can be given back to the earth by sprinkling them in soil or your grass.

If we pay attention, full moons can assist us in closing chapters of our life. We can even experience some significant epiphanies which give us a better understanding in the areas we value most. Be open to them!

This month is encouraging us to connect the mind and body in order for them to work in harmony. We must recognizing and removing old traumas, negative internal and external habits, toxic or stagnant relationships, and anything that holds us back. Meditation, yoga, and connecting with those we love on a deeper and emotional level is what is prescribed.

Yes, it's an intense time! But, if we actively participate, we will rise from it with inner strength and balance.

Until next month!
